Why I love K-drama?

Why do I love K-drama so much? Well, I guess the only thing I can come up with is that, I think I was more drawn to the stories as much as the actors/ actresses themselves. It's always the first thing I look for before selecting the show I'd be watching next, or I might catch a preview of an another drama that I've begun to like or show interest in . Of course, it'd be hard to select a drama without a genre or theme to go by, and, usually I'd pick love and hate relationships, gender bending, historical, super natural or love triangles. I'm a sucker for those love and hate relationships and love triangles TV dramas. The first k-drama I'd ever watch was You're Beautiful on Netflix, and of course I was drawn by the story in the beginning, but as I began watching each episode, I found myself liking the characters even more. Eventually, I was hooked, just after watching my first k-drama and after finishing all 16 episodes I would move onto another drama one right after the other until there was no more to watch. Looking at this, I really should be saying when and how I got hooked on K-drama instead, but for me it's all the same, I was always fascinated by Asian flicks and TV shows, it's know wonder why I have such an appetite for more Korean drama and films like Shinobi: Heart Under Blade, Sector 7, Assassins, Kung Fu Hustle, Ringu, House of Flying Daggers and Tidal Wave, just to name a few, and really I could go on and on with this, so I'll stop right here.

I would like however, for you to share your story on how you got hooked on K-dramas, I'd really love to hear them! So, please share them, I look forward to reading your comments. Until next time.... .....bye! :) ;P

The King of Dramas on DramaFever

I just began watching "The King of Dramas" late last night and I'm already on episode 4. I was skeptic at first when I read the short summary of the series and assumed it to be another boring drama, which is not the case, after watching the first half of episode one, I was immediately hooked. It turns out I was wrong and learned not to judge a book by it's cover.... .....and, in this case, a TV show. I found the characters Anthony Kim and Lee Go Eun to be quite interesting and somewhat funny. Other times, I felt hatred towards Anthony Kim and try to understand why he did the things he did. And, there were times I felt bad for the other character, Lee Go Eun, who was betrayed and used by Anthony Kim. I can understand how she feels, but she can be naive and gullible sometimes. At least that's how I see her. And, like in most K-drama's there's always that idiot that can't seem to connect the dots or the foolish girl who winds up getting into trouble. But, that is something to be expected from a K-drama, and it's cool, because they become characters that we grow to love and hate no matter what.

My Top 10 Favorite movies of the month...

A list of my top 10 favorite movies and why.
(Mainly because, they're movies I like to watch over and over)

  1. Jaws-- other than being a movie about a great white shark terrorizing a small community of beach-goers, I really liked watching how Chief Brody, Hooper and Quint interacted while hunting the man-eating great white.
  2. 2012-- I love disaster movies, and this one happens to be my all-time favorite disaster movie. John Cusack is absolutely hilarious in this one. The destruction of cities, homes, buildings, countries, etc. was unbelievable! And, the fact with all this destruction and devastation, it brought people from all over the world together under those circumstances.
  3. You've Got Mail-- out of all the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan comedy romance movies, I like this one the best. Whenever I watch this I get a warm and charming feel from it, not to mention the love hate relationship between Joe Fox and Kathleen Kelly.
  4. Jurassic Park-- when I was a kid, I loved dinosaurs, and just like the characters Dr. Grant and Ellie, I've always wondered what it would've been like to actually see a T-Rex up close (or at least from the silver screen).
  5. Kung Fu Hustle-- this movie is downright hilarious from beginning to end! Even though, Sing's antics are often childish and cruel, I can't help but laugh. This action comedy which has amazing fighting scenes also has characters that you'd grow to love and hate.
  6. Twilight-- as a Twilight fan, I've seem to never get enough between the relationship between Bella and Edward, the fact that she's human and he's a vampire will always be something that strikes my curiosity.
  7. Outbreak-- I love this movie, and honestly I think I was more upset with some of the characters, only because a lot of people died because of one man holding the cure that could've saved the people. However, there was that helicopter chase, the back and forth investigation trying to solve the outbreak, made it that more interesting.
  8. Memoirs of a Geisha-- this was an interesting story from beginning to end. To me, it was educational and a real eye-opener, what life was like for Chiyo growing up in a household run by geisha's , eventually one day becoming a geisha herself.
  9. Shinobi: Heart Under Blade-- a tale about forbidden romance, who wouldn't want to watch that?  Shinobi: Heart Under Blade resembles the tragic love story Ja Myung Go, but with a sci-fi-ish twist that is filled with interesting characters, amazing fight scenes and awesome special effects.
  10. Final Fantasy: Advent Children-- being a fan of the video game, Final Fantasy: Advent Children is filled with stunning CGI, interesting characters and incredible fighting scenes and LOTS of action.

Watching Rooftop Prince

I'm watching Rooftop Prince for the second time. I love these historic, time travel dramas, and I  have to say some of the characters in this story make me sick to my stomach, especially Se Na, Hwa Yong and Tae Moo. There actions are absolutely disgusting and cruel. I feel sorry for Boo Yong, Park Ha, Tae Yong and Prince Lee Gak to be related and involved with these horrible people. I honestly don't know what led me to watch this drama in the first place, other than being historical and time traveling TV series. Could it be the story? Or, maybe to see that Park Ha, Boo Yong finally get justification for what happened to them?? Whatever it may be, I can honestly say I've quite enjoyed watching each episode till the very end, even with evil people like Se Na, Hwa Yong and Tae Moo, it still was quite interesting watching how the characters in the story reacted towards the other.
